Expanded Rubric Library
Expanded Rubric Library
As we roll out version 4.0 we are also adding to the existing library of Platform Rubrics with the goal of eventually having 600+ from around the world.
The EssayGrader platform includes a large and growing library of curriculum-based rubrics aligned to state standards, national assessments, and international programs. These rubrics provide full, detailed descriptors for multiple genres of writing — argumentative, informative/explanatory, narrative, and opinion — ensuring grading is accurate and aligned with the expectations of each jurisdiction.
Alongside general-use academic rubrics (such as baseline high school-level essay rubrics), the library features a wide range of curriculum-specific sets, including:
- Advanced Placement (AP) essay rubrics (e.g., English, History, Government, Research, Seminar).
- International Baccalaureate (IB MYP) subject rubrics across Arts, Design, Language & Literature, Individuals & Societies, Mathematics, Sciences, and Physical & Health Education.
- Cambridge International AS & A Level rubrics.
- U.S. State and District Standards: Coverage spans over 35 U.S. states and territories including Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming .
This breadth of coverage means teachers can either use the official rubrics directly or adapt them as templates for local classroom use. Having both state-aligned rubrics and curriculum-wide frameworks in one system provides consistency, flexibility, and scalability for grading across elementary, middle, high school, and post-secondary contexts.
