Connect your LMS - Google Classroom


Connecting your Google Classroom account will begin the process of grading essays. If you are not ready yet to grade, please wait until you are ready before proceeding.


You can only have one Google Classroom account linked at one time to EssayGrader. To connect a different Google Classroom account, you will need to first unlink the current connection on the Integrations page in your account settings. You will not lose your data but you will not be able to work with it until you relink later.


The steps below demonstrate how to link your Google Classroom account to EssayGrader.


  1. Select the Google Classroom tile from the Upload Submissions section on the Home page.



  1. Note the instructions and information on the window that pops up and click Login with Google to continue.



  1. The next screens will be familiar if you have used Google to login to any service in the past or even just to access your Gmail. Select your Google account.


If there is more than one account listed, ensure that you select the one associated with your Google Classroom account.


If your Google Classroom associated account is not in the list, click on Add another account at the bottom of the list and manually enter the associated email on the next screen.

  1. Depending on the device you are using to login and how you have set up your Google account, you may be asked to verify your Google account through a multi-factor authentication process. This could be any of a number of options and is entirely handled by Google. Please contact support if you are having issues logging in, but we can only offer advice as we don't have any access to your Google account information or settings.


  1. If you have previously linked your Google Classroom account to EssayGrader you may see a screen indicating that you are signing back in to EssayGrader.


|| If this is the first time you are linking your account with EssayGrader, you will be asked to select permissions. Please select all boxes to ensure that the integration between the accounts is successful.

you haven't previously connected this Google account, there may be additional permissions you'll need to select. For EssayGrader purposes, so it can work properly, you'll need to select all.


  1. Select Continue to proceed back to EssayGrader and complete the connection.


At this point you will be asked to begin selecting classes and assignments and importing essays for grading. The next article will walk you through that process.


For Google Classroom import, only assignments with a Turned In status will be imported. If the status is anything other than Turned In, the essay will be ignored and not imported for grading. To import essays whose Turned In status has been chnaged you will have to be unsubmitted by the students, resubmitted, and then turned in so that the Turned In status is correctly applied.
